Jay (Ed O'Neill) keeps on busting Phil's ass about letting go of some things that he feels that true men should be doing but Phil (Ty Burrell) eventually snaps and ends up assaulting a mall employee. Claire (Julie Bowen) and Gloria's (Sofía Vergara) conflicts escalate as they prepare Luke (Nolan Gould) and Manny's (Rico Rodriguez) school dance. Meanwhile Lily has a different way of engaging with children on the playground which puts Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam's (Eric Stonestreet) parenting skills in question.
