Ted (Josh Radnor) and Zoey (Jennifer Morrison) starts to hang out a lot and this complicates things causing the gang to argue about relationships between men and married women. Trying to prove them wrong Ted decides to hang out with the Captain and Zoey but Zoey bails out at the last moment leaving Ted at the Mercy of the Captain. All the while Marshall (Jason Segel) hangs out with Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) with Lily (Alyson Hannigan) having the same conversations about the Mermaid Theory.
