A patient is admitted after reenacting the Crucifixion of Christ which puts science and faith on a head to head stand-off. Taub (Peter Jacobson) becaomes paranoid about his wife's loyalty to him and does not like what he finds out. Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) plans a proposal on a wedding but fails to deliver. Meanwhile House (Hugh Laurie) follows his advise and resolves his conflict with Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein). Cynthia Watros and Jennifer Crystal reprise their roles as Sam Carr and Rachel Taub respectively.

A family goes scuba diving on a shipwreck and they stumble upon an old medicine jar. Accidentally the teenage girl cuts herself when the jar shatters and this gets her admitted to Princeton Plainsboro. House's team investigate and later develop a diagnosis that she may have smallpox. When the Center for Disease Control intervenes the hospital is put in lockdown and impairs House's team to diagnose. House (Hugh Laurie) making a crucial decision put his life in danger and it is up to Masters (Amber Tamblyn) to find a way to save him.

A political consultant suffers from rash and liver damage. House (Hugh Laurie) is forced by Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) to hire a new team member to replace 13. Taub (Peter Jacobson) shows signs that he does not like the new team member but does not want to divulge why. Meanwhile House is given a difficult decision that could save the patient's life but may affect his relationship with Cuddy. Amber Tamblyn appears as 13's replacement Martha Masters.
